Namaste! I am Nikita, a User Experience Designer. I have completed the Professional Certificate Program at the University of California, Berkeley.
I started my career as an architect in India and specialized in interior design. My favorite thing about architecture is how we can use space and materials to enhance people’s experiences.
After moving to the US, I was exposed to graphic design and I started looking for design opportunities in the tech industry. That's when I came across UX design, Very soon I realized that the passion I had is not just architecture but the design itself and I have always been a UX designer. Now I design smaller interfaces and work for companies and clients that really value experience design.
Want to know more about my design journey?
“You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward. So you trust the dots will somehow connect in the future.” - Steve Jobs
I have started my design journey as an architect and transitioned into UX design. I kept taking all the challenges that came my way. The past couple of years have been full of experiences, learnings, and uncertainties, but when I look back now all of it makes sense.
My story has been featured on the students of UXD platform.
What I've been working on
ImpactScientist is a rural innovation influencing platform on a mission to economically empower women weavers at the bottom of the pyramid using offline, onsite, consulting, and collaboration channels.
Impactscientist is my passion project. I always believed in women's empowerment and always wanted to support and contribute. Putting my skills and knowledge for them to have the highest impact is the least I can do.
When I'm not designing
I love to paint, Illustrate, meet interesting people, and travel, mostly by road, as I get to experience topographies, architecture, cultures, offbeat places, taste authentic food and gain a perspective on life.
